On June 27, 2016, in Tianjin, China, H.E. Senior Minister Sun Chanthol, Minister of Public Works and Transport led a group of Cambodian high ranking officials to meet with Mr. Philipp Rosler, Managing Director of WEF to discuss the preparation for the WEF (World Economic Forum) on ASEAN in Cambodia next year.
Principal delegates in attendance included H.E. Pan Sorasak, Minister of Commerce, H.E. Kao Kim Hourn Minister Delegate Attached to the Prime Minister, and H.E. Tek Reth Kamrang, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce. The organising committee, chaired by H.E. Sun Chanthol ,will be established soon to work with the WEF team to jointly prepare for the Summit. The advanced team from WEF will visit Cambodia in August to inspect various venues for the Summit.
The WEF on ASEAN 2017 will bring approximately 700 business and political leaders, civil society, and academia to Cambodia. This is a great honor for Cambodia to host this prestigious summit.
