In order to promote public service effectiveness for the private sector, the Ministry of Commerce today, 15 September 2016, has announced the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on electronic payment (E-Payment) of public services through the WING Commercial Bank. The event was held under the patronage of H.E. PAN Sorasak, Minister of Commerce, and was participated by many distinguished guests.
Speaking at the ceremony, Excellency Minister said that E-payment has helped reduce time spent and boost the service delivery to clients effectively although it requires a huge investment on preparation and human resource development. «It allows the Ministry to perfectly monitor and manage budget because the income from each and every transaction was delivered to the National Treasury every day.» His Excellency further added that the Ministry of Commerce will continue implementing the E-Payment policy with other banks to provide the public more comforts and choices in paying the public services. It will also create a jointed working group with Ministry of Economy and Finance to prepare a single mechanism for the business and tax registrations. «This work is the foundation towards the arrangement of E-Government system to promote transparency and competitiveness of the kingdom at the international stage,» said H.E. Sorasak.
Through the MoU, it is well noted that Wing has become the fourth commercial bank that registered with the Royal Government to facilitate the collection of public service fees for the Ministry of Commerce that is tasked to offer thousands of certificates of origins (COs) and business registration transactions for private sector every month.
