He noted that the presence of a global industry giant like BYD is undeniable evidence that Cambodia is a high-potential, safe, and highly profitable investment destination. His Excellency expressed his expectation that BYD would share its positive investment experiences in Cambodia within its business communities and extensive investment networks. His Excellency’s direct inspection reflected a strong signal to international investors that the Royal Government of Cambodia remains closely engaged and stands ready to provide comprehensive support to ensure investment success and sustainability. Furthermore, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed that the CDC will continue its role as an excellent facilitator for all Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), as it has consistently done for BYD since the project’s inception. He added that the CDC will utilize its experience in facilitating BYD’s investment as a model to further enhance the efficiency of investment services for other companies in the future. Additionally, the CDC will continue to work closely with BYD to explore new investment opportunities aimed at boosting productivity for both domestic supply and international export markets. As a strategic cornerstone, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister offered several key recommendations for the company’s consideration to add value to the local supply chain and expand production such as: (1) Local Sourcing: He requested the company to explore the possibility of purchasing raw materials or components already produced within Cambodia to support local enterprises and reduce imports, and (2) Expanding Production Processes: He encouraged the company to explore the possibility of adding more production processes at the Cambodian factory. This expansion aims to create higher value-add, increase the transfer of technological knowledge, and generate more job opportunities for Cambodian citizens.
