Sub-decree on Public Holiday for Civil Servants, Workers and Employees for 2027 KH, EN

Cambodia will observe 22 public holidays in 2027, according to a sub-decree signed by Prime Minister Hun Manet, covering civil servants, armed forces, and private sector employees and workers.

Sub-Decree No. 198 ANKr.BK, based on a proposal from the National Committee for Organising National and International Festivals, sets out the official calendar by month.

January brings two days: International New Year on Jan. 1 and Victory over Genocide Day on Jan. 7. March has one: International Women’s Day on March 8. April has three: the Khmer Traditional New Year on April 14, 15 and 16.

May is the busiest month with four days: International Labour Day on May 1, the King’s Birthday on May 14, Visak Bochea on May 20 and the Royal Ploughing Ceremony on May 24. June has one: the Queen Mother’s Birthday on June 18.

September to October includes Constitution Day on Sept. 24, the three-day Pchum Ben Festival from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1, the Day of Remembrance for King Norodom Sihanouk on Oct. 15 and the King’s Coronation Anniversary on Oct. 29.

November brings four days: Independence Day on Nov. 9 and the three-day Water Festival from Nov. 12 to 14. December closes the year with Cambodia Peace Day on Dec. 29.

Ministries and institutions handling international relations and foreign affairs must keep permanent duty officers on duty during the holidays to deal with urgent matters.

The sub-decree takes effect from the date of signature, and any contradictory provisions are annulled.
