The 54th ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings

On 28 October 2021, Cambodia had the honor to assume the prominent role as the ASEAN Chair for the third time under the theme “ASEAN A.C.T.: Addressing Challenges Together”. At the core of our theme, Cambodia aims to accelerate and steer ASEAN’s collective efforts in deepening regional and global integration process and emerging stronger from the COVID-19 with inclusiveness, competitiveness, resilience, sustainability, and equitability.

To achieve further progress under the ASEAN Economic Community pillar, the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia, as the national representative for ASEAN Economic Community, will be hosting the 54th ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Meeting (54th AEM) and Related Meetings on 11-18 September 2022 at Sokha Siem Reap Resort & Convention Center, Siem Reap, Cambodia.

The 54th AEM will take place on 14-15 September 2022, during which Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia will be presiding over the opening ceremony on 14 September 2022 at 8:00 am.

The CLMV Economic Ministers’ Meeting, Mekong-Japan Economic Ministers’ Meeting and other Consultations between AEM-ASEAN Dialogue Partners; including AEM-India, AEM-Russia, AEM-Canada, AEM-CER, AEM-ROK, AEM-MOFCOM, EAS Economic Ministers, AEM-Plus Three, AEM-HK, China, RCEP Ministers, AEM-METI, AEM-UK, AEM-USTR, and AEM-EU; will be held on 16-18 September 2022.

The 54th AEM and Related Meetings will discuss the progress of ASEAN Economic Community integration, including but not limited to, the progress of Priority Economic Deliverables (PEDs) under Cambodia’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2022, Post-Covidl9 Economic Recovery, ASEAN External Economic Relations, Timor-Leste’s Application for ASEAN Membership and Multilateral and Regional Matters.
